Amy Holland focuses her practice on Estate Planning (Wills, Trust, Asset Protection), Family Law, and Consumer Bankruptcy.
Amy is passionate about educating people around Hampton Roads about the ability and importance of protecting their assets and creating a plan for their family and future that fits their individual needs. Whether you need a Power of Attorney, simple Will, complex Trust, Medicaid Qualification, or anything in between, it is important to have these discussions now, regardless of your age or level of income, so you can best protect and provide for your family’s future.
In Family Law cases, Amy strives to help her clients settle their tough cases when possible so they can significantly reduce the cost of litigation and sooner move on with their lives. She is also a trained Guardian ad Litem for children (GAL). A GAL is an attorney that has received additional training and certification to represent children and present their best interests to the court in contested custody, visitation, divorce, and sometimes juvenile criminal cases when a parent cannot be present.
Amy is a native of Western New York. She earned a B.A. Degree in History and Political Science, with a minor in French from Anderson University in Indiana. Amy earned her Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach. During her time there, she participated in a study abroad program in Strasbourg, France focused on international human rights law, and attended hearings at Cour Européenne des Droits de L’Homme (European Court of Human Rights). She also participated in the Family Mediation Clinic and interned with the Elder Law Division of the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia.
Amy is admitted before the Virginia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the Virginia Beach Bar Association, and The Military Spouse Juris Doctor Network. Amy is also a member of the Virginia Beach Taskforce on Aging, Norfolk Taskforce on Aging, and the Chesapeake Taskforce on Aging. She is an active member of her church and is a leader in their youth ministry.
Amy is married to a member of the United States Navy. As a military wife and the mother of young children she understands the additional struggles that military families face. Her desire is to help families plan for the future, navigate the legal system with dignity, and restore peace to their lives.
